Test-drove Remember The Milk

...and liked Toodledo a lot better. RTM's interface is less cluttered but Toodledo simply has more functionality how the to-dos can be sorted and presented. It also seems to have more GTD functionality built into it than RTM.

Am I Getting Things Done?

Well Anton's in bed, so I guess I do :-). Just read about Remember the milk and how it could be used for Getting Things Done. I think I am going to give it a spin and then report back. Another promising tool is MindManager from MindJet, recommended on David Allen's web site, they even have a webinar. It allows drawing Mind Maps, a tool I love (and my two large monitors would come in handy), and seems to interconnect with all MS Office tools. There is free 21 day trial, and academic pricing makes it attractive.

Web 2.0

I discovered Jott. It's essentially a 1-800 number to an automated transcription service that sends the text back to your phone. Good for little reminders, but is that it? Aahh, that's where it gets interesting and Web 2.0 begins to shine. Jott connects to all sorts of other services, so instead of a text message to your phone, Jott can pass your transcribed message on to for instance your calendar (what you're not using gcal? And your planet's name is...?), our a to-do list. For that, I discovered Toodledo, about which I will write in a forthcoming blog. You can also jott to Twitter to keep everybody who needs or wants to know about the minutiae of your life up to date even while you're mobile.

What this blog will be about

OK I admit it - I am an early adopter, an electronics and gadgets buff. This will be my place to rave and vent about my attempts to be connected with myself - I guess. Ultimately, the things have to have high entertainment value. Why don't I buy Apple products you ask? I don't know I answer.
